3:00 p.m. The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider vacating M -NW roadlog
33790 south of Rd 24 -NW in S 1 and 2,. T 22 N, R 24 E WM as petitioned by Raymond Mayer/ Loretta
Mayer and Billingsley Ranch LLC (Brent Billingsley). This hearing is being continued from June 29, 2021.
Keith Elefson, County Engineer, stated he continues to recommend denial of this vacation application.
He received feed back from the Bureau of Land Management (BLIVI) and they are against vacating this
road. The response back from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is "they oppose any vacation
of public road right of way leading to DNR land. However, if sufficient alternate access exists, such a
vacation may be acceptable. It appears that alternate access exists to their land."
Loretta Mayer asked about the "few" people that BLM stated use the road that is under consideration
for vacating. Who are they?
Call in users spoke against the vacation.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Jones, to close the public
comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by
Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Jones to deny the vacation as presented. The motion
passed unanimously.
