I am requesting your authorization for Out of State Travel for our Corrections Command
Staff, Chief Deputy Coats, Lieutenant Jay, Sergeant Simon, and Sergeant Erickson.
The Corrections staff will be traveling to Las Vegas, NV to attend- Jail and Prisoner
Operational and Legal Issues Seminar. The topics to be covered include:
- "Consent Decrees and Related Issues"

C- "Flying Below the Radar: National Reform Issues
Liability Issues: Correctional Tactical Response Teams"
- "Gender Dysphoria: Legal Issues"
- "Importance of Jail Internal Investigations"
- "Responding to Mental Health Incidents"
The training is put on by a Nationally Recognized Certified Litigation Specialist. The
conference dates are January 24-27, 2022.
The travel dates are January 23, 2022 — January 28, 2022. We anticipate flying out of
Spokane, Wa on a direct flight to Las Vegas, NV.

AELE is a Nevada CLE provider. Other states with MCLE requirements have accredited this
seminar in prior years.
SEMINAR MATERIALS
• Electronic access will be provided at the seminar to download all materials including a
digital workbook, PowerPointOO slides, and research material. WIFI access will be
provided in the meeting room. Attendants MUST bring a device that provides access
to the Internet.
• Directions will be provided by AELE staff for accessing legal research through the AELE
comprehensive online legal library and other resource materials.
• Each attendant will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
• For those attendants who desire to have the Jail seminar count as a program credit toward
the exclusive AELE Certified Litigation Specialist designation, additional information
will be provided by AELE staff during the seminar.
