WHEREAS R.C.W. 29.04.040(4) provides that on petition of twenty-
five or more voters resident more than ten miles from any place of election.,
the county legislative authority shall. establish a separate voting precinct:
therefor, and
WHEREAS, the County Auditor has certified that more than twenty-
five voter.,, residing over ten miles from any polling place in the Mattawa
Rural Precinct, have by petition requested that the precinct be divided,
and /
WHEREAS, it appears that two new precincts should be created out
of the existing Mattawa Rural. Precinct, �
NOW THERE.FORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT:
1.) The Mattawa Rural. Precinct shall. he divided into Mattawa Rural.
and East W:ahluke Precincts.
2) The legal description for the new Mattawa Rural Precinct shall
be as follows:
Beginning where the Columbia River intersects with the northwest poi -tion of
section 15, township .15, range 23 and following the Columbia River south
to the south -,est corner of section 1, township 13, range 23. Then fol.lotiVing
east approximately 3 miles to the east corner of section 8, township 13,
range 24 intersecting with the Columbia River, then following north
approximately ill miles to the northeast corner of section 17, to4nship 15,
rand:: 24, then following west to point of begin,iing.
3) The legal description of the new East Wah.luke Precinct shall.
be as follows:
Re( inning at the northwest corner of Section 16, township 15, range :64,
following south approximately 111 miles to section 9, township 13,
range 24 to �vhere A intersects with the Columbia River and following
the Columbia River east to the southwest comer of Section 21, tov.,nship 14,
range 27 which intersects with the Grant - Franklin County line. Then
going east approximately 3 3/4 miles to the southeast corner of section
24, township 14, range 27, then going north along the Grant - Franklin
county line 8 miles to the northeast corner of section 13, to�:nship 15, range
27, hense folloning west 22 miles to the point of beginning.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect June 5,
1989, and the Grant County Auditor shall take the necessary steps to implement
this resolution,
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolutions in conflict with this
resolution are hereby repealed.

therefor, and
WHEREAS, the County Auditor has certified that inure than twenty—
five voters, residing over tete miles from any polling place in the Mattawa
Rural Precinct, have by petition requested that the precinct be divided,
and
WHEREAS, it appears that two new precincts should be created out
of the existing Mattawa Rural Precinct,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED TI:-IA'1':-
1.) The (Mattawa Rural Precinct shall be divided into I'lattawa Rural.
and East Walilul<e Precincts.
2) The legal description for the new Mattawa Rural Precinct shall
be as follows:
Beginning where the Columbia River intersects with the northwest portion of
section 15, township 15, range 23 and following the Columbia River south
to the southwest corner of section 1, township 13, range 23. Then following
east approximately 3 males to the east corner of section 8, township 13,
range 24 intersecting with the Columbia River, then following north
approximately 11i miles to the northeast corner of section 17, township 1.5,
range 24, then following west to point of beginning.
3) The legal description of the new Exist Wah.luke Precinct shall
be as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Section 16, township 15, range L4,
following south approximately 11i miles to section 9, township 13,
range 24 to "here it intersects with the Columbia River and folloLving
the Columbia River east to the southwest corner of Section 21, township 14,
range 27 'which intersects with the Grant - Franklin County line. Then
going east approximately 3 3/4 miles to the southeast corner of section
24, township 14, range 27, then going north along the Grant - Franklin
County line 8 miles to the northeast corner of section 13, tov:nship 15, range
27, hence following west 2.2 miles to the point of beginning.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect lune 5,
1.989, and the Grant County Auditor shall take the necessary steps to implement
this resolution,
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolutions in conflict with t s
