Week of September 18,1989
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at
9:00 a.m, by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners
were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Nancy Wenke and Valerie
Tempel at $9.00 per hour by the Juvenile Department regarding the Oper-
ation Aware/Prevention Program.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Silvia Martinez-Schempp
of the Juvenile Department at $1200 per month effective September 1,1989.
The Commissioenrs approved the salary of Rebecca Webley of District
Court at $5.00 per hour effective September 5,1989.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the Notice of Separa-
tion or work interruption of Barbara M. Lesser of the District Court
office Effective September 15,1989.
The Commissioners approved the request to authorize the Auditor's
Office to issue Evonne Meyers of District court paycheck prior to the
regular pay period due to college enrollment responsibilities.
The Commissioners invited the following to be members of a Citizen
Proponent Committee to deal with the issues regarding the proposed Rabanco
Hazardous Waste site near Vantage:
Terry Cummings, Dwain Forester, Orin Luddington, Andrew Perkins, Carolyn
Duvall,Jerry Allred,Karen Wagner, Dick Canfield, Lou Wyman, Curt Morris,
Elwood Dart, Steve McDonald, Glenn Chamberlain, LeRoy Allison, George
White,Jerry Dormier, Sam Lorenz.
The Commissioners approved the Request for Transfer for the Misc.
General Government, Current Expense Fund in the amount of $20,400.
The Commissioners approved the special occasion liquor license of
the Turf Cafe for a wedding reception at the George Community Hall on
October 7,1989.
The Commissioners signed an agreement with the Town of Coulee
City for Judicial Services.
The Commissioners received Summons and Complaints from Marty D.
Sundberg, et ex, et al. They were referred to the Prosecuting Attorney
for handling.
A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Com-
missioner Goodwin that Resolution Number 89 -92 -CC proclaiming the month
of October as "Let's Talk" month be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners set a public hearing for October 10,1989 at
1:30 p.m. regarding a proposed supplemental extension in the Alcohol
Fund in the amount of $14,272.
The Commissioners met with various Elected Officials and Depart-
ment Heads regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was continued until
September 19,1989

The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commis-
sioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding
Consultant Agreement-R.W. Beck & Associats, Moses Lake Transportation
Study -Study Comments, Road Department Operations.
The Commissioners met with Huck Goodrich regarding Pelican Point
matters.
The Commissioners met with Ed Harvill regarding the budget for
1990 for the Grant County Historical Museum.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until
September 25,1989.
