Week of December 27,1989
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. Commissioner Goodwin was in attendance with
the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Chandler was out of town.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session.
The Commissioners approved the salary for Jessie Overman of the
Prosecuting Attorneys Office at $1108 per month during the month of
December. Her salary will increase January 1,1990 to the amount of
$1385 per month for the duration of the VOCA grant. They also approved
the salary of $6.00 per hour for the part-time assistant and $10.00
per hour for the interpreter assistant in the same program.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Sue Ramaker of
the Auditors Office to $1203:30 per month effective February 1, 1990.
The Commisisoners approved the salary of Barbara Cornwell of the
Treasurer's Office at $1153.60 per month effective January 8,1990.
The Commissioners approved out of state travel for Fred Howard of
the Sheriff Department to Nevada for a Boating Seminar.
The Commissioners approved a change in salary for David Ponozzo of
the Sheriff Department.
The Commissioners approved the request of Peggy Grigg of the Com-
missioner's Office to carry 2 extra annual leave days over until the
first week in January 1990 due to heavy year end work load.
The Commissioners requested the Auditors Office to adjust the
records to pay one third of Gwen Palmers salary and benefits for the
1989 year from the Communications Department.
The Commissioners notified the Auditors Office that the Courthouse
Contract with the Teamsters Union had been ratified and asked that the
3% salary increase retro -active of January 1,1989 and the 3% additional
increase for the 1990 year be implemented. They also were notified
that the Dispatchers would have an increase of 3% effective January 1,1990
and that should be implemented in the January 1990 payroll.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Les Johnson of the Planning
Department at 80% of Base Salary of $20,000 per year effective January 2,
1990 with benefits.
The Commis�;Ioners signed a lease with the Rogers Trust for a building
at 510 W. Broadway in Moses Lake for the Grant County Alcohol and Drug
Center.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding
Department staffing, Adams Road -Slope Seeding.
The Commissioners approved the Vouchers #12-1 through 12-2 in the
total amount of $11,485.67 for the Public Works Claims Fund.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of the Public Works
Dropbox attendants to $4.25 per hour effective January 1,1990.
A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner
Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner Chamberlain that Resolution Number
89 -128 -CC authorizing an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the
Current Expense Fund #001, Courthouse Facilities Department #112 in the
amount of $9,700 be passed. The motion carried.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
the vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 12/27/89
in the total amount of $121,796.90.
The Commissioners received a signed copy of. Contract Number 2200-
73615(1) with the DSHS and Grant County Mental Health.
The Commissioners were notified that Elvin L. Kulp of the Cooperative
Extension Office would not be retiring December 31,1989 as he had planned.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal in the
total. amount of $155,986.20.
The Commissioners signed the 1989 1990 Working Agreement with the
Teamsers Union and the Courthouse Employees.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until
January 2,1990.
