Week of April 5,1993
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Helen Fancher. Commissioner Snead was in attendance with the Clerk of the
Board. Commissioner Winzler was out of town.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceding session as written.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of David Reed of the Assessors
Office to 90 percent of Appraiser III position effective April 1,1993.
The Commissioners approved out of state travel for Lyn Davis, Christal Boyd and
Dotte Jolley of the Grant County Mental Health and Family Service Center to attend SIA
Computer Training.
The Commissioners approved the supplemental salary of the
secretary/ bookkeeper position in the Juvenile Probation Department contingent upon
continued funding of state grants.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Martin Sorom of the Juvenile
Probation Department effective April 1,1993 to $2,262 per month.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Warren Swanson of the
Juvenile Probation Department to $2,314 per month effective April 1,1993.
The Commissioners approved the request for a Panasonic KXP4410 Laser Printer
to be paid from Sheriff Department funds.
Chairman Fancher was authorized to sign the Special Occasion Liquor License
of Desert Aire Owners Association.
The Commissioners received a summons and complaint for damages from Joy
L. Glover, et al. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
The Commissioners received fully executed dispatch contracts for the 1993 year
between the Grant County Sheriff's Department and Town of Marlin, Town of Coulee
City, Grant County Fire District #3, Town of Wilson Creek, Grant County Fire District #7,
Grant County Fire District #10, Grant County Fire District #8 and the City of Soap Lake.
The Commissioners received one signed original of the Contract with U.S.West
on E-9-1-1.
The Commissioners received a Claim for Damages from Bernardino Guzman. The
matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
Chairman Fancher was authorized to sign the Conditional Use Permit and
Determination of Non Significance on the Potholes Bass Club Spawning Cover.
The Commissioners signed the March warrants list #55664 through #56091 for
the March payroll.
As there was no further business the session was continued until April 6,1993.
April 6,1993
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Fancher and
Commissioner Snead in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding 10:00 a.m.
bid opening on herbicides, Contract Execution -Ephrata Landfill Wells, Bid Authorization-
Auctioneering Services, Crushing -Moses Lake Area, Culvert Installation Request -Jack
Jones, Road Priority -Maintenance, Construction, vs. Cost -Share?
The Commissioners signed a contract with STACO Well Services,lnc. regarding
Ephrata Landfill Wells.
The Commissioners signed an Authorization to Call for Bids for Auctioneering
Services for May 18,1993 at 10:00 a.m.
A Bid Opening was held regarding herbicides. A motion was made by
Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Fancher that the bids be referred to
the Public Works Department for their recommendations.
The Commissioners approved the 3 percent salary increase retroactive to January
1,1993 for the Grant County Fair employees.
The Commissioners approved the budget extension request by Grant County
Emergency Services in the amount of $3,579.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included int he list filed in the Auditors Office 4/5/93 in the total amount of
$144,135.39.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until April 12,1993.
