Week of August 2,1993
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Helen Fancher. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk
of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
writ en.
The Commissioners signed a Request for Transfer by the Courthouse Facilities
Department in the amount of $10,000.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Sheriff Department
for the purchase of equipment for the Dispatch Center in the amount of $31,795. plus
tax from the E-9-1-1 Funds.
The Commissioners received signed copies of the following Contracts with DSHS,
#2781-83122(5), #2315-93129, #2336-92971, and #2381-92951.
The Commissioners signed the Warrants List #57672 through #58124 for the July
1993 payroll.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed int he Auditors Office 7/30/93 in the total amount of
$157,172.66.
As there was no further business the session was continued until August 3,1993.
August 3,1993
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding Contract
Execution -Potato Hill Road, STP -Buy-out, '13' NW Improvement -Jim Thomsen, 10:30 -
Surplus Property Hearing, Road Vacation Resolution -'10' SE, Road Construction
Schedules -Stratford Road 8/2-9/17, 7 NE Road 8/9-9/17, Potato Hill Road 8/23-10/8.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher approval #7-1
through 7-3 in the total amount of $17,076.97.
The Commissioners signed a Contract with Basin Paving for CRP 92-20 and CRP
93-3.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead
that Resolution Number 93 -96 -CC regarding a Public Hearing set for August 31,1993 at
10:30 a.m. on vacation of certain County Roads be passed. The motion carried.
A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner Snead,
seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 93 -97 -CC declaring as
surplus equipment a 1990 Buick Century be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners signed a contract with Tommer Construction for CRP 92-22
and CRP 92-23.
A Public meeting was held regarding the proposed zone change requested by
Frank Sparks located in a portion of S27,T20N.,R27E.W.M. in the McConihe Flats area.
A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that
the matter be set for Public Hearing on August 24,1993 at 2:30 p.m. The motion carried.
A Public Meeting was held regarding the Astro Enterprises Trust Preliminary Plat
requested by Tren Jones in a portion of S34,T19N.,R28E.W.M. A motion was made by
Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that the matter be set for
Public Hearing on August 24,1993 at 3:30 p.m. The motion carried.
A Public Meeting was held regarding the preliminary plat requested by Mike
Kinney on 50.56 acres in a portion of S12,T19N.,1127E.W.M. in the Mae Valley area. A
motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison to
uphold the Planning Commission approval of the plat with Public Works, Port District,
USBR, and Assessors recommendations to be met, and staff to prepare findings of fact.
The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead
that Resolution Number 93 -98 -CC setting a Public Hearing for August 16,1993 at 10:30
a.m. in the matter of declaring certain County owned property surplus be passed. The
motion carried.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Sheriff Department to purchase
goods in the amount of $4,298.00 from Law and Justice Funds.
The Commissioners approved the request by -the Sheriff Department to purchase
file cabinets in the amount of $950 from Law and Justice funds.
The Commissioners signed the Conditional Use Permit requested by Washington
State Parks and. Recreation Commissioners for the Jones Bay Random Camp area
renovation,..:
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 8/2/93 in the total amount of
$90,661.57.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until August 9,1993.
