Week of September 7,1993
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Helen Fancher. All of the Commissioners were in attendance.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
written.
The Commissioners approved the request for out of State travel for the County
Coroner to attend a seminar in California.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Law Library Committee for the
purchase of a new photocopier.
The Commissioners approved the hiring of Lucy Wolford to the position of the
Grant County Law Librarian.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Karlye J. Craft of the District Court
Department at $5.00 per hour effective August 27,1993.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Jennifer Gunderson of the
District Court Department to 90 percent of base pay effective September 1,1993.
Chairman Fancher was authorized to sign the Order of Re -sale of Tax Title
Property requested by Larry D. Thomas of Grand Coulee,WA.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding '5' NE
Improvement, and Solid Waste Coordinator.
The Commissioners awarded the 1993 Grant County mental Health Addition and
Remodel project contract to Hamre Construction, Inc. in the amount of $293,000.
Chairman Fancher was authorized to sign the Special Occasion Liquor License
Application of Desert Air Owners Association.
The Commissioners signed Forme Amendment #1 of Contract No. IA -GR -9395
with North Central Washington Regional Support Network.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead
that Resolution Number 93 -106 -CC rescinding Resolution Number 87 -132 -CC relating
to the assessment of fees for Ex -Parte Court orders be passed. The motion carried.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 9/7/93 in the total amount of
$277,530.60.
The Commissioners signed the Payroll Warrants list #58190 through #58655 for
August.
The Commissioners were notified by the Sheriff Department that Jim Gantenbein
will no longer be the Coordinator for the Grant County Sheriff Department Reserves.
The Commissioners held a Public Meeting regarding the Vern Cox zone change
and preliminary plat request from Agriculture to Suburban -2. After hearing testimony a
motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that the
Planning Commission denial of the request be upheld, with Staff to prepare findings of
fact. The motion carried.
The Commissioners held a Public Meeting regarding the Keene and Becky Basso
zone change request from Agriculture to Suburban -Ag. After discussion a motion was
made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that the Planning
Commission approval be upheld with the Bassos to contribute to the County Road Fund
and Staff to prepare findings of fact. The motion carried.
The Commissioners held a Public Meeting regarding the Wayne True zone change
request from Commercial -Neighborhood to Residential -2. After hearing testimony a
motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that the
matter be set for Public Hearing on September 27,1993 at 1:30 p.m. The motion carried.
The Commissioners met with the State Auditors for their Exit interview.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until September
13,1993.
