Week of January 17,1995
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Tim Snead. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the
Board
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
written.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding Prevailing
Wages, Bid Award Recommendation -Bridge #338 & #345, Bid authorization -Tilt Trailer,
Roller, Distributor, Continuation of Hearing on RID 93-3.
The Commissioners approved the recommendation of the Public Works Director
to award the bid on Bridge #33B and #345 to KSC,Inc. in the amount of $126,648.
The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids on one Rock Rake.
Bids to be open January 31,1995 at 11:00 a.m.,one 10 ton tandem vibratory roller at
10:40 a.m.,one 2000 gallon liquid asphalt distributor at 10:30 a.m., one tilt trailer at 10:50
a.m.
The Commissioners continued the Public Hearing on RID 93-3 and after due
consideration a motion was made by Commissioner Fancher, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 95 -7 -CC approving the RID as proposed
be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Edwardo Gonzales of the
Juvenile Probation Department to 90 percent of Probation Counselor salary effective
February 1,1995.
The Commissioners received a petition to change the speed limit on Randolph Rd.
N.E., and Tyndall Road.
The Commissioners approved the request for maternity leave under the FMLA
requested by Raynee Miller of the Juvenile Probation Department.
The Commissioners approved the re-evaluation and position name change of the
Office Manager in the Building/ Fire Marshal Department.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Unda Rodriquez in the District
Court Department to a Deputy Clerk 11 effective January 1,1995.
The Commissioners signed the 1995 Interlocal Agreement with Okanogan County
regarding provision of DUI Victim Survivors' Panel.
The Commissioners approved the request by Vern Cummings of the Maintenance
Department to purchase a portable work platform in the amount of $5,200.
The Commissioners were notified of the selection of Jerry Jasman as the full time
Chief Deputy Coroner.
The Commissioners were notified by the County Clerk that the Clerks Office will
remain open during the lunch hour beginning on January 30,1995.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Coroner for the
purchase of a computer system in the amount of $3,457 from Criminal Justice Funds.
The Commissioners were notified that Robert J. Cornwell, Juvenile Probation
Department Administrator will be retiring effective January 31,1995.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Stacy R. Smith of the
Treasurers Office to $5.50 per hour effective January 1,1995.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Terri Soltero of the Alcohol
and Drug Center at $7.55 per hour effective January 1,1995.
The Commissioners held a Public Hearing regarding a proposed amendment to
the Grant County R.V. Park Ordinances. A motion was made by Commissioner Fancher,
seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 95 -8 -CC adopting proposed
section 2.01 only be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners held a meeting with representatives of the Sunland Estates
area regarding their concerns with the concerts at the Gorge. The Commissioners made
commitments to put a Deputy Sheriff at the intersection of Sunland and Silica Roads
during Gorge concerts of 10,000 or more, place a "No Outlet" sign on Sunland Road,
FAX concert ticket sales numbers to Sunland before each concert so they are aware of
crowd levels, assist Cort Rylaarsdam in running an emergency test run during a concert
weekend, and proceed with the feasibility of putting Road 1 SW through.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 1/17/95 in the total amount of
$238,825.76.
The Commissioners approved the Grant county Alcohol and Drug Center plan for
a reduction in force to become effective as soon as possible.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 1/17/95 in the total amount of
$128,332.95.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was
continued until January 18,1995.

The session was continued with Helen Fancher and LeRoy Allison in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners appointed Trina Dice and Terese Schrom to further terms on
the Grant County Tourism Commission.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was
adjourned until January 24,1995.
