COMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS
Week of February 21,1995
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Tim Snead. Commissioners Tim Snead and LeRoy Allison were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board, Commissioner Fancher was away on County business.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
written.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Prosecuting Attorney for the
purchase of an upgrade for:, the Novell network from 10 users to 25 users.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Tammy Wiersma of the
Prosecuting Attorney's Department at $1,634.40 per month effective February 21,1995.
The commissioners approved the Request for Transfer of Funds in the Capital
Outlay Department #141, Current Expense Fund #001 in the amount of $17,000 for a
filing system in the Clerk's Department.
The Commissioners approved the appointment of Leanne Humphrey of Grant
County Mental Health to the ADA Compliance Committee.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead
that Resolution Number 95 -18 -CC setting a public hearing for March 6,1995 at 1:30 p.m.
relating to the facts requiring an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the Current
Expense Fund #001, Capital Expenditures Department #141 in the amount of $16,715
be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead
that Resolution Number 95 =19 -CC relating to the transfer of funds within the 1995
budget of the Law and Justice Fund #121, Department #163 in the amount of $64,004
be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead
that Resolution Number 95 -20 -CC setting a public hearing for March 6,1995 at 1:30 p.m.
relating to the facts requiring an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the Current
Expense Fund #001, Clerk's Department #105 in the amount of $20,804 be passed.
The motion carried.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 2/21/95 in the total amount of
$155,855.92.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Janice Goeden of the
Treasurers Office to $1,879 per month effective February 1,1995.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding Contract
Execution -Rock Rake and Vibratory Roller, Reimbursable Work Agreement -Desert Aire
Airport District, Award Recommendation -Herbicides, Bid Opening -Tilt Trailer, and
Personnel Issues.
The Commissioners signed a contract with Modern Machinery of Spokane for a
Rock Rake and a Vibratory Roller.
The Commissioners signed an agreement with the Desert Aire Airport District
regarding reimbursable work.
The Commissioners held a bid opening for a Tilt Trailer. A motion was made by
Commissioner Allison , seconded by Commissioner Snead that the Bids be referred to
Public Works for their review and recommendation. The motion carried.
The Commissioners appointed Robert J. Schrom to a position on the Housing
Authority of Grant County to fill the remainder of Curt Morris's term which expires in
September of 1997.
The Commissioners met with Lee Graham, Chairman of the Grant County Fair
Association and gave them authorization to call for bids on the electrical and interior of
the Ardell Building, at the Fairgrounds.
The Commissioners met with Doug Earl regarding the indigent defense contracts.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until February
27,1995.
