Week of February 27,1995
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Tim Snead. Commissioner Snead and Commissioner Allison were in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
written.
The Commissioners were notified of a structure change in the Correction
Department with Ken Kernan replacing Pete McMahon as Jail Captain. Pete McMahon
will be the Jail Sergeant.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Ken Kernan to $2,903 per
month effective February 15,1995.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Pete McMahon at $2,284 per month
effective February 1,1995.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Prosecuting Attorney for a
budget increase of $10,000 for expert witness fees.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Sheriff for the purchase of five
mobile radios and 3 portable radios.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Alcohol and Drug
Center to transfer the 1995 county contribution of $15,000 from current expense to the
Grant County Alcohol and Drug Center Fund #115.
The Commissioners approved the request by Grant County Emergency Services
for the $36,005 appropriated for the Emergency Services budget to be transferred into
that budget.
The Commissioners approved the salary for Ron Wilkinson of the Sheriff's
Department at $2,006 per month effective February 1,1995.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Margaret Blackman of the
Sheriff's Department at $1,444.80 per month effective February 17,1995.
The Commissioners received a copy of the Determination of Non -Significance on
the construction of an Onion Storage Facility, and a Potato Storage Facility.
Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the Liquor License Application of The
Dam Campground at Wanapum Dam.
The Commissioners signed the Easement for electrical service for the Kenny Ardell
Pavilion on the Grant County Fairgrounds.
The Commissioners received a signed copy of Contract #2315-93129(9) between
the Department of Social and Health Services and Grant County Mental Health.
The Commissioners signed the Dispatch Agreement for 1995 between Grant
County Sheriff's Office and Grant County Mental Health.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was
continued until February 28,1995.

The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding Contract
Execution -Asphalt Distributor, Bid Award Recommendations -Herbicides, Tilt Trailer,
Adams County -Providence Road ('12' SE) Bridge, Personnel -Educational Reimbursement,
Retirement, Shop/Office Property.
The Commissioners signed a Contract with Bearcat Mfg. for one 2000 gallon
Liquid Asphalt Distributor in the total amount of $92,117.
The Commissioners awarded the bid for one tilt trailer to Norstar Industries,Inc.
in the amount of $29,538.60.
The Commissioners approved the Public Works Directors recommendations for
the 1995 herbicide material purchase.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Karen Sutter of the
Prosecuting Attorney's Department to $1,816 per month.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 2/28/95 in the total amount of
$253,843.56.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal for the month of
February in the total amount of $221,715.84.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval #2-1
through 2-3 in the total amount of $16,981.74.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until March 6,1995.
