Week of February 19,1996
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. on
February 20,1996 by Chairman Tim Snead. All of the Commissioners were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board. February 19,1996 was the Presidents Day Holiday so there
was no session held that day.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
written.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding 9:00 a.m.
meeting with Jim Cherf(Ephrata Channel), Resolution -CRP 'D' NW, CRAB Certifications -
Levy & Operations, Contract Execution -Pneumatic Roller and 10:00 a.m. meeting with
Robert Dingman(Seig Pit).
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner
Fancher that Resolution Number 96 -21 -CC in the matter of initiating County Road Project
designated as CRP NO. 96-10 on 'D' NW be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners signed a contract with Western Power and Equipment for the
purchase of one Pneumatic Roller.
Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the Certification of the 1996 Road Levy
and estimated revenue produced.
Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the Memorandum of Understanding
between Grant County and Central Washington Amateur Radio Club.
The Commissioners were notified of the Termination of Gina M. Tropeano of the
Grant County Alcohol and Drug Center effective February 13,1996.
A summons and complaint by Raquel Salas Garcia was received. The matter was
referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
The Commissioners approved the salary of $28,000 annually for a Spanish
interpreter in the Superior Court.
The Commissioners received the Notice of Separation or Work Interruption of
Sheila Poe of the Juvenile Department effective January 31,1996.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Maintenance Supervisor to hire
Town and Country Builders of Spokane to build a shop extension.
The Commissioners approved the request by District Court for the purchase of
two plain paper fax machines.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Barbara Huss of the Juvenile
Department to 90 percent of the salary for the Breakfast Cook position.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Keith Wilson of the Juvenile
Department to 90 percent of the salary for the Weekend Cook position.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Maria Romo of the District Court
Department at the hourly rate of $5.50 per hour effective February 12,1996.
The Commissioners approved the recommendation of the Public Works Director
that Philip Environmental be awarded the contract for Grant County's Household
Hazardous Waste Collection Events.
The Commissioners approved out of State travel for Bill Wiester, Mike Shay, Lari
Dahl, and Jerry Butler to attend the 1996 Sheriff's Association Conference in Portland,
Oregon.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 2/10/96 in the total amount of
$335,744.87.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was
adjourned until February 26,1996.
