GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF TO RESOLUTION NUMBER: 9g -79 -CC
APPLY TO IAC FOR ORV FUNDS
A resolution authorizing the submittal of an application to
the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for funding
assistance for an Outdoor.Recreation Project from funds available
through the Non -highway and Off-road Vehicle (NOVA) program as
provided by RCW 46.09.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Non -highway and Off-road
Vehicle Act, state funding assistance had been authorized and made
available to aid in financing the cost of land for ORV and non -
highway road purposes. And that this funding assistance is
available to local public bodies; and
WHEREAS,- the County Commissioners of the County of Grant
consider it in the best public interest to maintain and develop
acquired lands within the Moses Lake Sand Dunes ORV area which is
located within Grant County, generally south of Moses Lake and Sand
Dunes Road and north of O'Sullivan Reservoir.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commissioners of
Grant County, Washington,
1. That the Sheriff be authorized to make formal application
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for
funding assistance.
2. That any funding assistance so received be used in the
development of property owned by Grant County located in
the Moses Lake Sand Dunes, Grant County,.Washington.
3. That Grant County will be providing financial support
for this project with funding received through a grant
from the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
4. That any property developed with financial aid through
the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be
placed in use as an ORV and/or non -highway road, outdoor
facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity,
unless otherwise provide and agreed to by the County
Commissioners and the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation, and
5. That this resolution become a part of the formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation.

6. That the site plan has been adopted by the Grant County
Planning authorities.
7. That Grant County does certify that it is the owner of
the land to be developed and based on current knowledge,
provides assurance there are no encumbrances on the land,
which would restrict the recreation or habitat
conservation use of the land proposed in this
application.
