Week of June 16,1997
The Grant Couniy Comrr�issioners session was called to order at
9:00 a.m. by Chairman LeRoy Allison. All of the Commissioners were
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the
preceding session as written.
The Commissioners authorized the Planning Department to
advertise forthe position of Deputy Director/Current Planning, and also
approved the request for a budget ext�nsion in the amount of $22,000.
The Commissioners approved the salary proposals for the District
Court for 1997.
The Commissioners set the following matters from the Planning
Commission for Public Hearing or Public Meeting:
Zone Change request frorn Agriculture to Suburban-Agriculture
requested by Don Jacobson, set fior July 8,1997 at 1:30 p.m.
Plat Alteration request by Robert Russell to divide Lot 22 of Crab
Creek Estates, set for July 8,1997 at 2:30 p.m.
Plat Alteraiion request by Robert McCaffery to divide Lot 7 of
Mai#awa Acres #1, set for July 8,1997 at 3:00 p.m.
Chairman Allison was authorized to sign the Centennial Clean
Water Fund-Referendum 39 Grant No. G9700217 Agreement with the
Department of Eco[ogy.
The Commissioners receivec9 the Notice of Separation or Work
Interruption of Virginia Flester of the Assessors Office, effective June
13,1997.
A motion was made by Commissioner Fancher, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 97-103-CC to increase
the Sheriff Advance Travel Fund Account be passed. '�he rr�otion
carried.
A motion was made by Comrr�issioner Snead, seconded by
CommissionerFancherthatResolution Number97-104-CC in the matter
of changing the zoning from Freeway Comrnercial to Light Industrial,
9.9 acre parcel, Lot 1, Sakai Short Plat, located in a portion of Section
32, Township 19N., Range 24 E.W.M, requested by John D. Sakai, be
passed. The motion carried.
A motian was made by Comr�issioner Snead, seconded by
Cammissioner ANisvn that Resolutian Number 97-105-GC in the matter
o€ changing ih� zoning from Agri�ulture tv Generat Gommerciai, 5.�8
acre parcel located in a portian of �he N 912 of the IdE 1/4 af #he NE 1!4
of 5ection 5, Town.�hip °19N., Range 24 E,iiU.M. requested by t3ary White

The Commissianers receivec! a�udiy exe�uted con�ractamendmen�
between G�rant County and V�ashington State l�lilitary Departm�nt for
reimburser�ent af costs incurred in using the AT&T Language Line
Services interpreter Services.
A motion was made by Commissianer Fancher, se+cc�nded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolutian Number 97-14fi-CG in the matter
of additional revoiving fund in th� Auditor's C)ffice for the Licensing
Department be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissianers approved the salary �ncrease of Co�rectians
t3fficer Betty Harsh to $2,120 per manth effective Ju1y �i,1997.
The Commissioners signed subscriptior� agreemeni wi�h the
Teamst�er� Lt��al Unian No. i�0 fQr D�ntal Pian E far the Courthause
and Sheriff"s Department Cvn#rac#s.
The Cc►mmissioners held a Public H�aring regarding the
app[ication �or funding from a Communiiy Development Block Gran�
Non-Construction �rani for the purpose af authorizing the use ofi
Service Category 4,3 under the current contract fa� Community Actian
Agencies. A motion was made by Commissivner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Fancher io inctude 4.3 to the Communi�ty Deve[opment
Btack Grant. The moiic�n carried,

Goun�tyy regarding misdemeanant fees.
