WHEREAS, Resolution 93-9-CC approved the formation of the Hillcrest Lighting District; and i

WHEREAS,the Order set forth that the amount of the annual assessment for the LID was to be ,
determined by Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County; and
WHEREAS,Resolution 02-189-CC set the assessment rate for 2003 at$17.00 per parcel and �
Resolution No. 06-264-CC decreased the assessment to$16.00 per parcel in 2006; and Resolution No.
10-088-CC increased the assessment to $17.00 per parcel in 2011; and Resolution No. 13-078-CC �
increased the assessment to$18.00 per parcel is 2013; and :
WHEREAS,the current assessment of$18.00 per taxable parcel has been deemed by the Grant
County Treasurer to be excessive; and
WHEREAS,the Treasurer has recommended to the Board of County Commissioners to decrease I,
the 2017 tax assessment fi•om$18.00 per parcel to $16.00 per parcel;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT HEREB�'R�SOLVED THAT pursuant to the Order,the
Board certifies to the Grant County Treasurer the assessment rate for 2017 will be decreased to
$16.00 per taxable parcel in RID No. 93-0 and that the Treasurer use these figures for the
assessment rate in all future assessment rolls of RID No 93-1 until further order of the Board.

RE: 2017 ASSESSMENTS FOR HILLCREST LIGHTING DISTRICT
In reviewing the cash balances for �he Hillcrest Lighting
District, I find their cash balance for yearend to be excessive . •
The original resolution stated that no new assessment will be
prepared unless there is an increase or decrease in the annual
anticipated lighting costs submitted by the Grant Caunty PUD.
The assessment rate has been the same for the last few years at
($18 . 00) per parcel . The ending balance going into 2016 is more
than adequate in case the PUD raises their rates in 2017 and
wi11 be adequate to cover for payments in February and March.
With this potential change to the monthly bill for 2017, we need
to decrease the assessment from ($18 . 00) in 2016 to ($16 . 00) in
2017 which includes the county' s administration fee . The
administration fee will continue to be $1 . 00 per parcel for
2017 .
Please start the process to decrease the assessment rate to
$16 . 00 per parcel for 2017 .
