Home My WebLink AboutResolution 16-072-CC BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington RESOLUTION No. 16- �� CC WHEREAS,the following Grant County funds do not have an adequate level of budget appropriation to make the following expenditures; • Grants Administration Fund#190 in the amount of$125,080.00 to receive a Washington State Depai�nent of Commerce CDBG Public Services Grant No. 16-62210-005 which is pass tl�rough funding for the OIC of Washington. • Central Services Fund#308 in the amount of$42,944.00 due to cost overruns that were not anticipated for the replacement of Parlcing Lot"A"at the courthouse facility. • Prosecuting Attorney's Office Fund#120 in the amount of$41,165.00 to receive additional grant money from a Department of Commerce Victun/Witness Assistance Grant. These funds are used to pay a portion of the Victim Witness Coordinator's wages,benefits,training,and the language line. WHEREAS,these additional budget expenditures were not anticipated when preparing the 2016 budget; and WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 36.40.140 a public hearing,must be held to authorize additional budget appropriations. WHEREAS, on the 26th day of September, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., a public hearing was held in the Grant County Commissioners' Hearing Room. This has been used to pay a portion of our Victim Witness Coordinator's wages and medical benefits, as well as language line and training directly related to victims of crime. The grant period has been from July 1 to June 30 of each year. This year, with the addition of federal funds, the grant award was increased by the Department of Commerce to $68,915.00 with the intention to pay a larger percentage of the Victim Witness Coordinator's wages and benefits up to an amount of $67,435,00, and $1,480.00 for directly related goods and services such as language line and training. The grant period will remain from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017. By this letter we are requesting a budget extension to receive the additional grant amount. The costs of the underground tank removal and associated costs of contaminated soil removal as well as the lowest bid being slightly higher than the anticipated cost of the parking lot, our costs have been considerably more than what was budgeted and total$77,944.00 The original estimate for the parking lot was $35,000.The associated costs are listed belo�,v, Bid- $40,321.80 Tree Removal- $4,779.00 Contaminated soil and tank removal- $30,756.41 Parkinb lot striping $2,086.79 Total $77,944.00 The Central Services Department is requesting a budget extension in the amount of$42,944.00 to cover the additional costs incurred on this parking lot.
