RESOLUTION APPROVING A ZONE
CHANGE.FROM COMMERCIAL
RECREATION TO RES�ENTIAL I

WHEREAS, the Board of Count�� Commissioners of Grant Counry have been
advised by the Grant Counry Planning Commission that an Open Record Public Meeting was
conducted on May 6, 1998, and then continued to June 3, 1998 on the matter of changing the
zoning from "CR (Commercial Recreation)" to '°R-I (Residential � on appro�mately 18+
acres located in a portion of Sections 22 and 23, Township 14 North, Range 23 East, W.M.,
Grant Couniy, Washington, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been
advised by the Grant County Planning Department that the G�ant County Planning
Commission made a recommendation to approve the zone change on said matter, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissiomers of Grant County having said
recommen�lation for approval, have given notic�e this matter would be considered at a public
meeting on July 6, 1998 and;
WHEREAS, the Board of Counfiy Commissioners have found that the proposal
does not fall within a Critical Area as defined by the Grant Counry Resource La�ds and
Critical Areas Development Ordinance, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissiomers have found that the proposal
is not within the irrigated farm units of the Columbia Basin Project, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have found
that the proposal is consistent with the Grant County Comprehensive Plan and sunounding
uses, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have found
that the proposed zone change is in the public's interest, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have found
that a Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance was issued for this proposal on April 1,
1998 and the proposal has met the requirements of (SEPA), and;
WHEREAS, the Board of Counry Commissioners of Grant County have found
that the proponent has presented sufficient evidence that changed circumstances in the area of
the subject property warrant a rezone oi the property, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent
has presented sufficient evidence that there is sufficient need in the area for the types of uses
allowed and size of lots.
