HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 98-005-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMNIISSIONERS GRANT COUN'�Y, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF CHANGING � Resolution # gg_5-CC THE ZON�NG FROM RESIDENTIAL II I TO AG (AGRICULTURE) IN A PORTION OF SECT�ON 3, TOWNSHIP 22 N., RAloTGE 28 E., W.M., GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION DENYING A ZONE CHANGE FROM RESIDENTIAL II TO AGRICULTURE ROGER AND JIJDITH SCHAFER WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised by the Grant County Planning Commission that a public hearing was conducted on December 2, 1997 on the matter of changing the zoning from "R-II (RESIDENTIAL)" to "AG (AGRICULTURE)" in a portion of Section 3, Township 22 North, Range 28 East, W.M., Grant County, Washington, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised by the Grant County Planning Department that the Grant Couniy Planning Commission recommended denial on said matter, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Cominissioners, having said recommendation, have given notice this matter would be considered at a public hearing on January 12, 1998, and; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Conlmissioners of Grant County, Washington do by this resolution deny the zone change request from R-II Residential to Ag Agriculture on the following described property. Grant County Tax Parcel # 8711, located in a portion of the SE 1/a of the SE �/ of Section 3, Township 22 North, Range 28 E.W.M., Grant County, Washington (Parcel #17-1213-002). Findi.ngs and Facts: l. The proposal does fall within a Critical Area as defined by the Grant County Resource Lands and Critical Areas Development Ordinance. 2. The proposal is not consistent with the Grant County Comprehensive Plan and surrounding uses. 3. The proponent has not presented sufficient evidence that changed circumstances in the area of the subject property warrant a rezone of the property. 4. The proponent has not presented sufficient evidence that there is sufficient need in the area for the types of nses allowed and size of lots.
