RECITALS:
WHEREAS, the cost of saving salmon is approaching $1 Bi//ion annually, with little or no
results, and the economic impact of these costs are building � tremendous economic burden upon
Washington farmers, r�nchers, and businesses; and
WHEREAS, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NIV�'S), has actually incre�ised the
h�.rvested number of endangered and threatened salmon, �nd
WHEREAS, TI��LF'S has failed to curtail preclation by marine nl�rnmals and terns upon
endangered and threatened salmon, ancl
WHEREAS, NMES has actually authori�ed the killing of endangered a�d threatened salmon
because they merely swam up the wrong stream; and
�VHEREAS,the State ofldaho has actually pc�isaned�nd prevented threatened and endangered
salmon from spawning; and
WHEREAS, the US Army Corps ofEngineers is completing a study on salmon migratian that
actuaily considers removing the fauz lower Snake River Da�ns.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Grant County Baard of Commissioners
hereby endorse and fully support the position pramulgated by the Common Sense S�lmo� Recovery
Co�litian, and
B � IT FURTHER RESQLVED, that the Grant Gounty Board of Commissioners liereby and
fully support the litigatian initiated by the Common Sense Salrnon Recovery Coalition (Plainti�} v,
I�lMFS federallawsuit.
