Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 01-115-CCGRANT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington ORDINANCE NO. 0l - 115 -CC RESOLUTION NO. 01- 115 -CC AN ORDINANCE SETTING MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS AND AMENDING CHAPTER 11.04 OF THE GRANT COUNTY CODE, AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO. RECITALS: WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) have received requests from members of the public requesting that certain county roads have speed limits lowered; and WHEREAS, certain unincorporated areas within Grant County have undergone rapid population growth and have acquired higher urban -type densities than is normal in rural settings; and WHEREAS, the Grant County Sheriff's Office has requested that certain county roads within the aforementioned unincorporated areas of Grant County have lower speed limits; and WHEREAS, the BOCC has determined that it is reasonable, advisable and necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of, and visitors to, Grant County, to establish or re- establish different speed limits within Grant County, regulating the speed of motor vehicles; and WHEREAS, Washington law empowers the BOCC with the authority to enact ordinances for the reasonable regulation of vehicular traffic pursuant to its police powers. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GRANT COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON, THAT CHAPTER 11.04 GRANT COUNTY CODE, BE AMENDED BY AMENDING SECTIONS 11.04.25, 11.04.35, 11.04.45 AND 11.04.50 REGULATING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS. Section 1.
