The original allocations proposed for the fiscal year for the TAIBG Competitive grant were made
before we could have an accurate view of where the funding would be at the end of the year.
Now that we have a clear picture of the funding a.vailable to us, it is necessary to make some
"amendments" to our budget in addition to increasing the revenue allocation. The original figure
used for available funding was exactly half of the original contracted funding, however there was
actually more than that available as of January 1 othis year. Please approve the journal entries
below to correct departmental reports. Your consideration of this request is appreciated.

The BECCA Funding grant for the 1999-2001 biennium has been increased by the state to make
a difference in our 2000 revenue allocation by $27,000. This increase comes at a time when I
have been contemplating an additional Early Intervention Counselor position to handle school
attendance matters before a Truancy Petition is necessary. The above funding would be more
than adequate to fund such a position. I am respectfully requesting your approval of an Early
Intervention Counselor for the purpose of preventing truancies from occurring. Your
consideration of this request is appreciated.
A detail of the necessary gener 1 journal entries is attached for Mr. Mosher.

The Intensive Parole grant for the year providesor reimbursement per caseload for direct
services related to that program. Due to the size of the caseload in this county, our department is
showing a large "bank" of funding which we were not utilizing. Since the satellite office on
Broadway Avenue in Moses Lake houses the Intensive Parole staff and serves the parole
caseload as a day reporting and programming facility, it seems logical to pay for that facility's
lease out of the Intensive Parole grant. Therefore, I am respectfully requesting your approval of
the following addition of revenue and budget funding to covar this expense. Your consideration
of this request is appreciated.
