RESOLUTION IN R�: GIZEENHOUSE RESOLUTION le1o. 14- �•��-CC
GAS REDUCTION POLICY
WHEREAS, state, regional, and local governments throughout the nation are adopting
emission reduction targets and programs seeking economic and quality-of-life benefits such as
reduced energy bills, green space preservation, air quality improvements, and economic
development and job creation through energy conservation and new energy; and
WHEREAS, The Grant County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) finds that the
people of Grant County may benefit from policies and procedures to preserve the County's
natural resources and reduce the emission of greenhouse gases; and
, WHEREAS, the BOCC constitutes the legislative authority of Grant County and deems
this to be in the best interest of the County;
THAT THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HEREBY ADOPTS THE
'� FOLLOWING POLICIES AND PROCEDUItES:
l. Consider cost-effective, efficient designs for new publicly-funded buildings.
2. Encourage energy conservation in County facilities.
3. Manage lighting needs through the use of energy-efficient light bulbs and sources.
4. Encourage employees to maximize reuse and recycling opportunities.
5. Consider energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)retrofits
for public facilities when appropriate.
