Home My WebLink AboutResolution 13-078-CC BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County,Washington � RESOLUTION INCREASING THE RESOLUTION l�To. 13- ��-CC ASSESSMENT RATE FOR HILLCREST LIGHTING DISTRICT FOR 2014 TO$18.00 PER PARCEL ', WHEREAS,Resolution 93-9-CC approved the formation of the Hillcrest Lighting District; and WHEREAS,the Order set forth that the amount of the annual assessment for the LID was to be , determined by Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County; and � WHEREAS, Resolution 02-189-CC set the assessment rate for 2003 at $17.00 per parcel and Resolution No. 06-264-CC decreased the assessment to $16.00 per parcel in 2006; and Resolution No. 10-088-CC increased the assessment to $17.00 per parcel in 2011; and WHEREAS,tha current assessment of$17.00 per taxable parcel has been deemed by the Grant , County Treasurer as insufficient to cover 2014 payments; and WHEREAS,the Treasurer has recorrimended to the Board of County Commissioners to increase the 2014 tax assessment from$17.00 per parcel to $18.00 per parcel; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT HEIt�BY RESOLVED THAT pursuant to the Order,the Board certifies to the Grant Coanty Treasurer the assessment rate for 2014 will be increased to $18.00 per taxable parcel in RID No. 93-0 and that the Treasurer use these�gures for the assessment rate in all future assessment rolls of RID No 93-1 until further order of the Board. The original xesolution stated that n.o new assessment will be prepared unless there is an increase or decrease in the annual anticipated lighting costs submitted by the Grant County PUD. The assessment rate has been the same for the last few years at ($17 . 00) per parcel . The ending balance going into 2014 is too low in case the PUD raises their rates in 2014 and will not be adequate to cover for payments in February and March. With this potential change to the monthly bill for 2014 , we need to increase the assessment from ($17 . 00) in 2013 to ($18 . 00) in 2014 which includes the county' s ad.ministration fee, , The administration fee will continue to be $1 . 00 per parcel for 2014 .
