Home My WebLink AboutResolution 13-077-CC BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County,Washington � ItESOLUTION DECREASING THE RESOLUTION No. 13- ��-CC ASSESSMENT RATE FOR TURNKEY LIGHTING DISTRICT FOR 2014 TO �20.00 PER PARCEL WHEREAS, Resolution 02-193-CC approved the formation of the Turnkey Lighting District; and WHEREAS,the Order set forth that the amount of the annual assessment for the LID was to be determined by Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County; and WHEREAS,Resolution 04-006-CC set the assessment rate for 2004 at$30.00 per parcel; and in 2005 a public hearing was held and the rate was further decreased to $20.00 for 2005; Resolution No. 09-102-CC increased the assessment to $24.00; and Resolution 10-089-CC decreased ; the assessment to $22.00 per parcel; and WHEREAS,the current assessment of$22.00 per taxable parcel has been deemed by the Grant County Treasurer as over-sufficient to cover 2014 payments; and WHEREAS,the Treasurer has racommended to the Board of County Commissioners to decrease the 2014 tax assessment from $22.00 per parcel to $20.00 per parcel; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the Grant County Treasurer use these figures for the assessment rate in all future assessment rolls of RID No. 02-1 until further order of the Board. The original resolution stated that no new assessment will be p�epared unless there is an increase or decrease in the annual antiCipated lighting costs submitted by the Grant County PUD. The past years assessment rate was not changed and stayed ($22 . 00) per parcel due to replenish the very small remaining carryover balance into 2013 . With the payment of most delinquent assessments in 2013 , the anticipated carryover going into 2014 amounts to around $242 . 86 and which will be more than adequate to cover for payments in February and March. Even with this potential change to the monthly bill for 2014, we can still decrease the assessment from ($22 . 00) in 2013 to ($20 . 00) in 2014 which includes the county' s administration fee. The administration fee though will be increased to be $2 . 00 per parcel for 2014 to actually cover the costs of doing the budgeting and paying the monthly bill that we do not do for other type assessment districts .
