AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A LOCAL TRIAL COURT
IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR FUNDING SUPERIOR AND
DISTRICT COURT STAFFING, PROGRAMS, FACILITIES,
AND/OR SERVICES AS APPPROPRIATED BY THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND, OTHER MATTERS
PROPERLY RELATING THERETO.
RECITALS:
WHEREAS, the legislative authority for counties is empowered to create a local trial court
improvement fund In the county treasury, pursuant to Chapter 457 Washington Laws of 2005
(2ESSB 5454); and
WHEREAS, the stated purpose of the Local Trial Court Improvement Fund is to fund
Improvements to staffing, programs, facilities and/or services as appropriated from time to time by
the Board of County Commissioners, for Supenor and District Courts, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognize the need for, and/or requirement
of, Improvements to staffing, programs, facilities and/or services as appropriated from time to time
by the Board of County Commissioners, for Superior and District Courts; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has found and determined that Grant
County, Its visitors and citizens and, Superior and District Courts, will benefit from the
establishment of a Local Trial Court Improvement Fund for funding Superior and District Court
staffing, programs, facilities and/or services as appropriated by the Board of County Commissioners
from time to time
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF GRANT COUNTY,
STATE OF WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY ORDAIN AND ESTABLISH:
Section 1. Creation Of Account: Pursuant to Chapter 457 Washington Laws of 2005 (2ESSB
5454), there Is hereby created "Local Trial Court Improvement Fund #127 Dept 169" for Grant
County. Funds deposited In the Local Trial Court Improvement Fund will fund Improvements to

staffing, programs, facilities and/or a broad range of services and/or programs as appropriated from
time to time by the Board of County Commissioners.
Section 2. Treasurer's Responsibilities: The Grant County Treasurer shall receive a
quarterly deposit of funds to the Local Trial Court Improvement Fund, upon approval of the Board of
County Commissioners, in an amount equal to that received quarterly from the State for partial
payment of salaries for District Courtjudges.
Section 3. Interest: Interest earned on funds in the Local Trial Court Improvement Fund, if
any, shall accrue to the fund.
Section 4: Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect the 1st day of October, 2005.
A public hearing was held on the above ordinance/resolution at 3:00
o'clock p.m., on the 26th day of September, 2005.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDAINED THAT THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS adopt this ordinance
