IN THE MATTER OF APPROVING AN
AMENDMENT TO THE UNIFIED
DEVELOPMENT CODE REGARDING
THE ALLOWANCE AND LOCATION OF
ACCESSORY USES LOCATED ON A
PARCEL OF GROUND WITHIN THE
UNINCOMPORATED AREAS OF
GRANT COUNTY PRIOR TO THE
LOCATION OF THE PRIMARY USE.

RESOLUTION APPROVING A UNIFIED
DEVELOPMENT CODE AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised
by the Grant County Planning Commission that a open record public hearing was conducted on
October 3, 2001 on the matter of amending the Grant County Unified Development Code, Chapter
23.04 Zoning Districts, to allow the location of Accessorv_ Uses 1,500 square feet and smaller on a
parcel of ground within the unincorporated areas of
Grant County; and
WHEREAS, the Grant County Planning Commission on October 3, 2001 voted and
cast a tie vote, resulting in no recommendation being forwarded to the Board of County
Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County held a open record
public meeting on November 5, 2001, and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have been advised by the Grant
County Planning Department that the proposed UDC Amendment was processed in accordance with
the requirements of UDC Chapter 25.04 "Permit Application Review Procedures"; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have been advised by the Grant
County Planning Department that the proposed UDC Amendment was processed in accordance with
the requirements of UDC Chapter 24.04 "State Environmental Policy Act"; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have found that a
Determination of Significance and Adoption of Existing Environmental Documentation was issued for
this proposal on December 14, 2000, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposal is
consistent with the Grant County Comprehensive Plan and internally consistent with the rest of the
Unified Development Code; and,

LOCATION OF THE PRIMARY USE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the public use and
interest will be served by the UDC Amendment; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposal will not
adversely effect the health, safety, and general welfare of the public in the vicinity of the proposal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners
of Grant County do by this resolution approve amending the Grant County Unified Development Code
in regard to allowing the location of accessory uses 1500 square feet in size on a parcel of ground
within the unincorporated areas of Grant County prior to the location of the primary use in accordance
with the following:
Amend Chapter 23.08.020 and Chapter 23.04. 110 Accessory Uses and Structures
Delete 23.08.020 (a) and 23.04.110 (a) Accessory uses are customarily incidental and subordinate to the
principal use of a structure or site. Therefore, accessory uses may only be permitted when a principal use has
been established"
And Replace with:
Accessory uses are customarily incidental and subordinate to the principal use of a structure or site.
Accessory structures are permitted under the following provisions:
(1) Accessory uses/structures not exceeding 1,500 square feet shall be permitted
prior to the construction of a primary use. These structures are not intended for
residential occupancy, business or industrial use.
(2, 3, 4, etc. shall remain the same)
