BLOCK 75, IN THE COLUMBIA BASIN NOTICE OF LEASE AND SALE
IRRIGATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has the authority to sell and lease real
property through RCW 36.34, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that it is in the best interests of
the county and the taxing districts and the people thereof that a portion of Farm Unit 64, Block 75,
Columbia Basin Irrigation Project, belonging to the county should be leased and sold under the
limitations and restrictions and in the manner prescribed by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the County Road Engineer is directed to publish the
Notice of Lease and Sale of the described real estate once each week during two successive weeks in a
legal newspaper of general circulation in the county, and to post the notice in a conspicuous place in the
courthouse. Both posting and the date of first publication must be at least ten days before the day set for
the hearing.
Notice of Lease and Sale
Sealed bids, plainly marked "Sealed Bid for Lease and Sale of Farm Unit 64, Block 75" will
be received by the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners until 2:OOP.M., Tuesday, March 4,
2003, at the County Courthouse, P.O. Box 37, 35 C Street NW, Ephrata, WA 98823, and will then be
opened and publicly read.
Interested parties may obtain a copy of the Lease and Sales Agreement and related bid
documents form the County Road Engineer at 124 Enterprise Street SW, Ephrata, WA. The documents
may be obtained at no charge.
The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject or accept all bids in whole or in
part as it determines to be in the best interest of the public. No lease shall be made by the county except
to the highest responsible bidder at the time of the hearing set forth in the notice of intention to lease.
Lease and Sales Agreement
An agreement to lease and purchase Farm Unit 64, Block 75, Columbia Basin Irrigation Project, Except
the northeasterly 10.644 acres lying north of the USBR canal right-of-way, as recorded with the Grant
County Auditor. The agreement permits the successful bidder to lease the described farm unit to
December 31, 2009, and purchase the described farm unit at any time during the lease period subject to
the terms and conditions of the lease and sales agreement.
