PARC received $9000 from the Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse for the Children's
Transition Initiative (CTI) which is an intensive prevention program. There are seven
counties participating in the CTI. Grant County's CTI project is the Latino Youth Mentor
Program.
We are requesting your consideration to approve a budget extension for PARC's 2003
budget in the amount of $9000. The CTI funding will be utilized to pay for extra help to
coordinate the mentor program, to purchase supplies and capital equipment. Attached is
the proposed budget for the GTI funds.
The capital equipment purchase is for three computers. One computer is to be utilized by
prevention staff and two computers are for the youth and mentors to work on a variety of
projects geared toward two substance abuse prevention risk factors: (1) academic failure
(2) early first use.
Thank you for your consideration to approve the budget extension.
Sincerely,
