Week of December 25, 2000
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order on
December 27, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. by Chairman Deborah Moore. All of the
Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
;tizr�Chairman Moore signed the Notice of Separation of Alma Garcia of
Grant County P.A.R.C..
1,The Commissioners approved the request by Sharon Kiehn of Grant
County Developmental Disabilities to combine two revolving fund accounts
currently in use by the Developmental Disabilities Department.
The Commissioners signed the Contract with Day Wireless Systems
for the purchase of twenty ICOM F320S mobile two-way radios.
The Commissioners approved the request by Sharon Kiehn of Grant
Mental Healthcare to extend the date of annual leave use into the year 2001.
/'-/ The Commissioners received a summons and complaint from Patrick
Acres regarding the estate of Carrie Vinson Taueu. The matter was referred
to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
,� The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal for the
month of December in the total amount of $292,445.69.
-1,1,)14 The Commissioners held a continuation of the budget hearing for the
year 2001. A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2000 -163 -CC setting the
regular property tax levy for the Grant County Road budget at 1.02 percent
or the amount of $5,771,924 be passed. The motion carried.
'Z/1 zj ",/ The Commissioners held a continuation of the budget hearing for the
year 2001. A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2000 -164 -CC setting the
regular property tax levy for the Grant County current expense fund at
1.02% or the amount of $7,121,094 be passed. The motion carried.
-'. 2/_',A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2000 -165 -CC adopting the
Grant County budget for the 2001 year, to include both the Current Expense
and Public Works budgets be passed. The motion carried.
Z/ - iii A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2000 -166 -CC setting land
classification and assessments for funding the 2001 budget of the Grant
County Noxious Weed Board be passed. The motion carried.
IAF.. �/,), A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner
Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2000-
167 -CC authorizing an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the
Current Expense Fund #001, various departments in the amount of $145,310
be passed. The motion carried.
1/.',),A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Ordinance Number 2000 -168 -CC relating to the
adoption of Interim Official Controls for the Desert Aire Rural Village as
identified in the Grant County Unified Development Code, allowing limited
development to occur in the Rural Village Residential 1 (RVR1) and Rural
Village Residential 2 (RVR2) areas as identified and recommended by the
Desert Aire Advisory Committee; and, the Temporary Suspension of
acceptance of development permits in the area not identified as RVR1 and
RVR2 by the Desert Aire Advisory Committee; and rescinding the previous
Interim Official Control adopted October 31, 2000, Grant County Ordinance
#00 -136 -CC be passed. The motion carried.
motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Moore that Commissioner Allison be appointed as the
Commission Chairman in the year 2001, with Commissioner Snead as the
Pro Tem. The motion carried.
of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 12/27/00 in the total amount of
$347,602.57.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until January 2, 2001.
