Week of August 21, 2000
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. by Chairman Deborah Moore. All of the Commissioners were in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
/[//A_)The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Arnold Garza of
the Juvenile Probation Department to $2,271 per month.
The Commissioners approved the purchase of the 1994 Suburban to
Grant County Fire District #5.
/'//X-'/4As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 8/21/2000 in
the total amount of $431,905.32.
Commissioners received a Summons and Complaint from Jared
A. Kemp. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
.f/�(//The Commissioners approved the request by the Boundary Review
Board for a budget extension necessary for remuneration to board members
for their meetings.
i�z /,yyaThe Commissioners held a Public Meeting regarding a Re -plat of a
portion of Farm Unit 116, Block 41 creating one 5.92 -acre parcel in the
Suburban 1 zone requested by Paul McConkie. A motion was made by
Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that the Planning
Commission recommendation for approval be upheld with the findings and
conditions as provided by the Planning Department. The motion carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was continued until August 22, 2000.
August 22, 2000
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding
Vehicle Purchase -Fire District No. 5, Contract Execution -`20' NE
Pedestrian Path, RAP Projects -Rating Points.
l y /i�_/ The Commissioners approved the purchase by the Maintenance
Department of a 1996 Ford Pickup.
7 The Commissioners signed a Contract with Basin Paving for 20 NW
Pedestrian Path, CRP 2000-5.
'I) , < The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County
Department of Emergency Management for the publication of an update and
publication of the county wide emergency response plan for hazardous
materials in the amount of $587.50.
I W-/ `/ The Commissioners approved the salary increase of the Grounds
Manager for the Grant County Fairgrounds to $2,965 per month effective
July 1, 2000.
� I k 3 'Chairman Moore was authorized to sign the Security Contract with
Moon Security to provide private security guards for the County's District
Court Department.
141 �-�' The Commissioners set a Public Hearing for September 5, 2000 at
1:00 p.m. regarding a supplemental budget for Grant County P.A.R.C. Fund
#1 15, Department #157 in the amount of $150,000 from unanticipated
state/federal funds.
4 I #K% ), A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner
Allison, seconded by Commissioner Moore that Resolution Number 2000-
96 -CC relating to a supplemental extension in the budget of the Domestic
Violence Fund # 128, Department # 170 in the amount of $84,791 be passed.
The motion carried.
It -I I u5 23 A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner
Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number -2000-
97 -CC relating to a supplemental extension in the budget of the Current
Expense Fund 4001, Prosecuting Attorney Department #109 in the amount
of $28,802 be passed. The motion carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was continued until August 24, 2000 at 1:00 p.m.
August 24, 2000
The session was continued at 1:30 p.m. with all of the Commissioners
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
� q f k ayThe Commissioners spent the afternoon in a Development
Regulations Workshop.
P I I a' �5 The Commissioners signed a Hold Harmless agreement with Michael
T. Ratigan regarding the Grant County Metal Drive from August 30 through
September 30, 2000.
/.��/i .�,� -Chairman Moore was authorized to sign Form Amendment #2 to
amend the interagency agreement between the North Central Washington
Regional Support Network and Grant County.
11 k 7 Chairman Moore was authorized to sign Rural Arterial Program
Prospectus on Road G-SW,I I -SW,L-NE,N-N E/SE, and Martin Road.
t{ W5 b' Chairman Moore was authorized to sign the excused absences in the
Law and Justice Center on August 23 and 24 due to excessive paint fumes in
the offices.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was continued until 9:00 a.m. on August 25.
August 25
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
I The Commissioners spent the day in a Development Regulations
Workshop.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until August 28, 2000.
