Week of July 31, 2000
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. by Chairman Deborah Moore. Commissioner Allison was in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board; Commissioner Snead was in
attendance during the afternoon.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
+4['191 The Commissioners approved the request by the Fire Marshal for a
County Wide Bum Ban beginning at 12:01 am on August 2, 2000 due to
severe fire danger.
Irl The Commissioners received a Notice of Intent from Peter Eriksen.
The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
c 1,7,' The Commissioners appointed Kathy Edwards to a position on the
Grant County Planning Commission.
{ < 1�t-r As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers tiled in the Auditors Office 7/31/2000 in the total amount of
$367,843.42.
[ 17 V Chairman Moore was authorized to sign approval of the liquor license
application of the Columbia Basin Rodeo Association.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was continued until August 1, 2000.
August 1, 2000
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding
Notice of Hearing -Road Establishment (Loring & Grape Ext.), Pit Site
Purchase -Bill Seig, Strategic Infrastructure Program, Gravel Road Study
Update.
1 y I -1,1 q The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Sally Catlin of the
Assessors Office to $2232 per month.
1"41 Sno A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2000 -85 -CC relating to the
transfer of funds within the 2000 budget of the Current Expense Fund #001,
Clerk's Department #105 and the Co-operative Extension Department #122
in the amount of $3,200 be passed. The motion carried.
r I X,' I Chairman Moore was authorized to sign the Exemption from
Shoreline Management Act Substantial Development Permit Requirements
for Power Engineers, Inc. for the installation of fiber optic communication
conduit.
p/ /,,�,%3 The Commissioners signed a letter to the Columbia Basin Rodeo
Association setting out stipulations to be incorporated into the approved plan
for a beer garden at the Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo and demolition derby,
August 16 through 19, 2000.
Pj l,t ^ Chairman Moore was authorized to sign the permit for Shoreline
Management Substantial Development/Conditional Use for the Washington
State Department of Fish and Wildlife for improvements at Martha Lake and
Burke Lake.
N; Xnl/ The Commissioners held a Public Hearing and a motion was made by
Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution
Number 2000 -86 -CC relating to a supplemental extension in the 2000
budget of the Mental Health Fund #408, Department #150 in the total
amount of $55,678 be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2000 -87 -CC approving
modifications to the Moses Point Planned Unit Development Concept Plan
be passed. The motion carried.
y 1 W[>(, A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2000 -88 -CC approving Moses
Pointe, Phase 1, Final PUD Map be passed. The motion carried.
motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Moore that Resolution Number 2000 -89 -CC in the matter of
setting a Public Hearing for August 29, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. regarding the
matter of establishing a portion of Loring Drive and Grape Drive at part of
the County Road System be passed. The motion carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until August 7, 2000.
