Week of June 26, 2000
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. by Chairman Deborah Moore. All of the Commissioners were in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.

The Commissioners approved the request by Grant County Fairgrounds for a
transfer of funds in the amount of $2,759.14 for the purchase of a new
computer.
q I G--1 1 The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Angie Karlsson of
the Grant County PARC at $1,872 per month effective June 19, 2000.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Ferdinand A.
Nicholson of District Court at $1,477.60 beginning June 22, 2000.
I I l `lcr The Commissioners received the Notice of Separation of Kerri M.
Spurbeck of Grant County District Court, effective June 30, 2000.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Muriel L.
Hardebeck of the Grant County Sheriffs Office at $1,722.57 per month
effective June 12, 2000.
-.I;,,�I The Commissioners approved the request by the Sheriffs Office for
Lana Schimke to receive longevity pay effective October 1, 1996.
/1(043- The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Jaynese Rupke of
the Sheriff s Office to $2,196 per month.
p4/,/,K � The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Raymond J.
Linehan of the Juvenile Probation Office at $6.50 per hour.
,;qI Wq The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Public
Works Department to shorten the advertisement period for the `U' SW, CRP
00-1, Reconstruction Project.
1 k4l 5S The Commissioners approved the request by the Sheriffs Office to
purchase one Electric Toaster in the amount of $1,200.

The Commissioners approved the change of date for Deb Shay to attend
Spillman Computer training in Logan, Utah.
I y (, 'f The Commissioners approved the Request for Transfer of funds in the
District Court budget in the amount of $9,500.
I IThe Commissioners approved the request by the Maintenance
Department for the purchase of an air conditioning unit in the amount of
$6,050 from law and justice funds.
A�motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner
Snead that Resolution Number 2000 -65 -CC regarding GWMA purchase of
Deep Soil Sample Machines from GWMA WCC Grant 42 funds be passed.
The motion carried.
A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner
Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 00 -66 -
CC, Ordinance No. 00 -66 -CC amending Chapter 6.32 of the Grant County
Code by adding a new area for the regulation of the use, possession and sale
of fireworks, and other matters properly relating thereto be passed. The
motion carried.
1141(,'7I A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner
Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2000-
67 -CC relating to a supplemental extension in the 2000 budget of the Grant
county Prevention and Recovery Fund 4115, Department #157 in the amount
of $5,000 be passed. The motion carried.
l q I ,- ;L The Commissioners held a Public Meeting regarding the Re -plat of lot
2 of the Johnson Short Plat on Scott Rd. in Section 16, Township 19 North,
Range 28 East of Willamette Meridian. A motion was made by
Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison to uphold the
Planning Commission approval of the request with conditions and findings
as provided by the Planning Department. The motion carried.
j qi G 93 The Commissioners held a Public Meeting regarding the Re -plat of
lots 2 and 3 of the Walker Industrial Short Plat into three lots ranging in size
from 4.9 acres to 2.9 acres. The proposal is located at 13624 N. Frontage
Road, Moses Lake, in a portion of the southwest quarter of the northeast
quarter of Section 32, Township 19 N., Range 29 E., Willamette meridian
motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by Commissioner
Allison to uphold the Planning Commission approval with conditions and
findings as provided by the Planning Department. The motion carried.
l I �-qq The Commissioners held a Public Hearing regarding the re -adopting
of an amendment to the Grant county Zoning Ordinance relating to
permitted uses and restrictions, and other matters properly relating thereto.
There was no public comment, and a motion was made by Commissioner
Snead, seconded by Commissioner Allison that the ordinance be readopted.
The motion carried.
q i V^(5- The Commissioners approved out of state travel for Joseph Kriete of
the Sheriffs Office to travel to Texas for an extradition.
,41 X94 As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 6/26/2000 in
the total amount of $355,373.38.
N 1a�7A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2000 -68 -CC setting a Public
Hearing for July 24, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. relating to the facts requiring an
appropriation and expenditure of funds for the Developmental Disabilities
Fund #402, Department #176 in the amount of $113,923 be passed. The
motion carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until July 3, 2000.
