Week of February 28, 2000
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. by Chair Deborah Moore. All of the Commissioners were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
k� =� / The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Corrections Cook
Sharon Moore of the Sheriff's Office at $2,168 per month.
r q i _� _, l The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Deputy Brent
Mullings of the Sheriff's Office to $3,144 per month.
The Commissioners received a Claim for Damages on the estate of
Carrie Vinson-Taueu. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney
for handling.
i q i,1 � o The Commissioners approved the request by the Information Services
Department for approval to attend classes in Spokane on TCP/IP and
Microsoft Exchange 5.5.
A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2000 -17 -CC stating that
Gaemmi Jasman is no longer an employee of Grant Mental Healthcare be
passed. The motion carried.
1,j The Commissioners approved the request by Grant Mental Healthcare
to purchase items for the Celebrate Kids Festival to promote quality health
for children.
I-_ H=, The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Orvella Fields of
the Prosecuting Attorney's Office at 90% of a secretary 1.
,j A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner
Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2000-
18 -CC authorizing an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the
Tourism Fund #114, Department 4156 in the amount of $75,000 be passed.
The motion carried.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding
Radio Site Lease (Steve H.), Bid Award Recommendation -Service Body,
Contract Execution -Tractor Mowers. CRAB Certification, Gravel Road
Meeting -Agenda, GMA-Road"Street Standards, Personnel -Foreman.
'., -;G_= The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher
Approval #2-1 through #2-2 in the total amount of $22,092.09.
i The Commissioners approved the recommendation of the Public
Works Director and awarded the bid for one service body to Critzer
Equipment in the amount of $3,450.55.
/it (2)(, : The Commissioners signed a Contract with Carroll Adams Tractor
Co. for 3 New Holland TSI 10 Tractors with Numac Mid Mount Boom
Mowers -20'.
� 4,k,The Commissioners approved the renewal of Washington Dental
Service for Grant County with a 4.1 percent increase effective March 1,
2000.
pit,,G•� The Commissioners received the resignation of Dorothy Baroch from
the PARC Advisory Board.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 2/28/2000 in the total amount of
$1,203,461.67.
i,; i The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal for the
month of February.
i._, � I- As there was no further business to come before the Board and the
Commissioners were going to be out of the office tomorrow in order to
travel to the Seattle area to testify in opposition to the breaching of the 4
Snake River Dams the session was continued until March 1, 2000.
February 29, 2000
Since the Commissioners were unavailable this date and bid openings
had been scheduled, the following bids were opened by the Clerk of the
Board and the Public Works Director.
i i-� > 3 A bid opening was held regarding W -NE Rd. The bids were referred
to the Public Works Department for their review and recommendation.
'4 , iq A bid opening was held regarding Herbicide Materials for the year
2000. The bids were referred to the Public Works Department for their
review and recommendation.
March 1, 2000
The session was continued at 10:00 a.m. with all of the
Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
i,J "' The Commissioners signed the Warrants list #110896 through
#111362 for the February Payroll.
i ki i " � - Chairman Moore was authorized to sign the Exemption from
Shoreline Management Act Substantial Development Permit Requirements
for Westshore improvements.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was until March 6, 2000.
