COMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS
Week of February 7, 2000
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. by Chair Deborah Moore. Commissioner Allison was in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Snead was out of the office due
to illness.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
1'�13ia The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Carla J. Payne of
the Sheriffs Office at $1,688.80 per month.
jq131 3 The Commissioners approved the request by the Sheriffs Office for
the purchase of security cameras and related equipment from Law and
Justice Funds in the total amount of $8,840.
1g1,�,q A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Moore that Resolution Number 2000 -13 -CC setting a public
hearing for February 28, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. relating to the facts requiring an
appropriation and expenditure of funds for the Tourism Fund #114,
Department # 156 in the amount of $75,000 be passed. The motion carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was continued until February 8, 2000.
February 8, 2000
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Moore and
Commissioner Allison in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding
Asphalt Tank Discussion, Crackfilling Audit, Bid Authorization -Service
Bodies, Landfill -Remediation -Free Disposal, Contract Execution -Sweeper &
Steam Cleaner, 10:30 Bid Opening -Loader & Patrol Car, 10:45 Bid
Opening -Tractor Mower, Town of Mattawa Franchise Hearing.
lq1Z/� The Commissioners held a bid opening on Wheel Loader. A motion
was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Moore to
refer the bids to Public Works for their review and recommendation. The
motion carried.
14/,�I(P The Commissioners had scheduled a bid opening on a wrecked
vehicle. No bids were received.
14, 1.a 1-1 The Commissioners held a bid opening on Tractors with a boom. A
motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner
Moore that the bids be referred to Public Works for their review and
recommendation. The motion carried.
14i31y The Commissioners signed a contract with Darley Sales and Services
for pressure washers.
c�i�19 The Commissioners signed a contract with Rowand Machinery Co.
for Motor Graders.
f,4 (-)',j o The Commissioners signed a contract with Clyde/West for a Sweeper.
1 The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher
approval #1-1 through #1-185 in the total amount of $638,606.07.
1 The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids for 2
Service Body's. Bid opening to be held February 22, 2000 at 10:30 a.m.
,,,I The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Sheriff
to allow Corrections Officer Richard Reno to donate annual leave and sick
leave to his wife, Corrections Officer Paula Reno.
^i i �,/The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Jeremy Myers of
the Sheriffs Office to $2,338.90 per month.
The Commissioners approved out of state travel for David Ponozzo of
the Sheriffs Office to attend meetings.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 2/7/2000 in the total amount of
$505,283.81.
7 The Commissioners held a Public Hearing on the Franchise
application from the Town of Mattawa. A motion was made by
Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Moore to Grant the
franchise. The motion carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until February 14, 2000.
