Week of June 18, 2001
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. by Chairman LeRoy C. Allison. All of the Commissioners were in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2001 -93 -CC in the matter of
denying an amendment to the Unified Development Code regarding
agriculturally related industrial uses in the Recreation Development Zone be
passed. The motion carried.
,r The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Fair to
increase the salary of Philip Wick and Ronald Schick to $9.00 per hour.
. I, The Commissioners approved the salary increase of 3 percent,
effective July 1, 2001 for New Hope Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
Services employees.
� /, , The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund voucher
approval #05-1 through #05-216 in the total amount of $1,425,255.14.
The Commissioners approved the wording change to the WDS
Dependent Eligibility clause.
, The Commissioners approved the Biennial Plan for 2001-2002, for
Grant County Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Advisory
Board addressing the current status and needs of people with disabilities in
Grant County.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 6/18/01 in the total amount of
$1,236,373.65.
The Commissioners set a Public Meeting for July 2, 2001 at 1:30 p.m.
regarding the Reasonable Use Exception request from Louis Farias to allow
the development of a single-family dwelling on Lots 5 & 6 of the Wheeler
Plat in the Rural Community Zone of Grant County.
'The Commissioners set a Public Meeting for July 2, 2001 at 2:00 p.m.
regarding the Reasonable Use Exception request from Matthew and Kari
Hermanson to allow the development of a 2.5 -acre parcel in the Rural
Residential 3 Zone of Grant County.
' The Commissioners held a bid opening for County legal notices for
the year beginning July 1, 2001. A motion was made by Commissioner
Moore, seconded by Commissioner Snead to accept the low bid from the
Columbia Basin Herald at $3.07 per column inch. The motion carried.
The Commissioners held a Public Hearing and a motion was made by
Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution
Number 2001 -94 -CC authorizing an appropriation and expenditure of funds
for the Current Expense Fund #001, Sheriff's Department #114 in the
amount of $9,629 be passed. The motion carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was continued until June 19, 2001.
June 19, 2001
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding
Execution of Approved Salary Increases for Department Heads and Union
Exempt Employees, Bid Authorization for 12 -SE Road (SR 262 to Adams
County), Notice of Hearing -Speed Limit Ordinance 11.04; Supp. No. 5,
Ordinance No. 950 (City of Soap Lake), Reimbursable Work (Seal coating) -
City of Soap Lake, Town of Electric City, Town of Hartline,Town of Coulee
City, KULE Radio Interference, Personnel -Central Shop Mechanic.
The Commissioners signed a letter regarding the 2001 Supervisory or
Non -Union Salaries for the Public Works Department.
' The Commissioners signed an agreement with the City of Soap Lake
to adjust corporate boundaries.
The Commissioners signed an Authorization to Call for bids on 12 -SE
Road. Bid opening to be July 3, 2001 at 10:45 a.m.
, /.; _ The Commissioners signed the request to the County Road
Department for reimbursable work from the Town of Electric City, City of
Soap Lake, Town of Coulee City, and the Town of Hartline.

1, /. The Commissioners approved the starting salary for Liliana E. Diaz -
Moore of the District Court Department at $1,477.60 per month.
Chairman Allison was authorized to sign the Memorandum of
Understanding between Grant County, and the Bureau of Reclamation
regarding the Banks Lake Drawdown Study.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until June 25, 2001.
