Week of April 9, 2001
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. with Commissioner Snead and Commissioner Moore in attendance with
the Clerk of the Board. Chairman Allison was out of town.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
LASS The Commissioners signed a letter to the Department of Corrections
authorizing Sheriff William A. Wiester to act as agent in regard to
administering and managing any funds in regard to the Violent Offender
Incarceration and Truth -in Sentencing Incentive Grant.
/�,, i3c/The Commissioners received a Claim Against Grant County from
Steven Obershaw and Sandra Obershaw. The matter was referred to the
Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
f �= 'j, ,A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2001 -55 -CC relating to the
establishment of a revolving fund for the Domestic Violence Fund #128, to
be called Crisis Response Revolving Fund Account be passed. The motion
carried.
'�� ) 4 The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Records Clerk
Carla Payne of the Sheriff's Office to 100% of Clerk Step Level 1.
; 7 The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Deputy Kyle Cox
of the Sheriff s Office to 100% of Step Level 1.
The Commissioners signed approval of the liquor license assumption
from Riva's Mini Mart to Royal Slope Scales.
//! 9 The Commissioners signed approval of the liquor license correction to
Quincy Golf Club.
The Commissioners signed the New Hope Domestic Violence and
Sexual Assault Services Personnel Policy Manual and Management Team
Orientation.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 4/9/2001 in
the total amount of $532,701.11.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was continued until April 10, 2001.
April 10, 2001
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Interim Public Works Director
regarding Open Range -County Code 9.04.030, Call for Bids -CRP 01-07,
CRP 01-10, CRP 01-05, CRP 01-11, CRP 01-06, Equipment Contracts- NC
Machinery, CAT 973 crawler loader, Contract Award recommendation -
Water Pump w/Trailer, Cost Share -U -NE (9 -NE to 0.5 miles south of 9 -NE);
Stan Meyer, Wahluke Rd. (G -SW to 1.01 miles west of G -SW); Farmland
Mgt. D -SW (10.4 -SW to end of road 0.15 miles south); Frank Martinez,
Elsie Rd. (Mae Valley to end of road); Norman Clark, Private road proposal -
Development standards, 10:30 Bid Opening-Auctioneering Services, 10:45
Bid Opening -Asphalt Hauling Services, 11:00 Bid Opening -Crack Sealing,
Cell phone request, Personnel -Truck Driver District 3.
The Commissioners held a bid opening on Auctioneering Services for
the 2001 year. A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Moore to refer the bids to the Public Works Department for
their review and recommendation. The motion carried.
The Commissioners held a bid opening on Asphalt Hauling Services
for the 2001 year. A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded
by Commissioner Snead to refer the bids to the Public Works Department
for their review and recommendation. The motion carried.
i�zsr The Commissioners held a bid opening on Crack Sealing Services for
the 2001 year. A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by
Commissioner Snead to refer the bids to the Public Works Department for
their review and recommendation. The motion carried.
/'{�'5`6'The Commissioners approved the recommendation of the Interim
Public Works Director and approved the award of the bid for a Water Pump
w/Trailer to Mitchell, Lewis & Staver in the amount of $17,008.68.
"/,-The Commissioners signed a Contract with N.C. Machinery Company
for one Caterpillar 973C crawler loader.
The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids on CRP
01-06, D -SW, 10.2 -SW and E -SW. Bid opening to be held April 24, 2001 at
11:00 a.m.
The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids on CRP
01 -07,9 -NW and CRP 01-10, 3 -NW. Bid opening to be held April 24, 2001
at 10:30 a.m.
;i. � a 9 The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids on CRP
01-05, 7 -NE, and CRP 01-11, 9 -NE. Bid opening to be held April 24, 2001
at 10:45 a.m.
;> z_ �oThe Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher
Approval #3-1 through #3-192 in the total amount of $789,081.56.
" The Commissioners signed the Shoreline Management Act of 1971
Permit for Shoreline Management Substantial Development/Conditional Use
for Les Vorwerk.
