COMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS
Week of August 19, 2002
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. Commissioner Allison and Commissioner Moore were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Snead was out of the office.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
-) �. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 8/19/02 in the total amount of
$2,417,004.71.
(4`l );�3 The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Sonja K. Baker of
the Planning Department at $1,605 per month, effective August 6, 2002.
v The Commissioners signed approval of the liquor license application
of Coventry Vale Winery.
r, _)d5 The Commissioners received a Claim for Damages from Victor
Vargas. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was continued until August 20, 2002.
August 20, 2002
The session was continued at 11:00 a.m. with Commissioner Allison
and Commissioner Moore in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding
Resolution -Order Granting Vacation -R -NW Road, Hold
Harmless/Indemnification Agreement, Port of Mattawa HHW Event, Town
of Mattawa Mental Drive, Local Agency Agreement -Arnold Drive,
Execution of Contracts -Grant Place Ped/Bike Path, Rate Increase
Information -Solid Waste, District 3 Quincy Shop Site Property, Park Lake
Road, Orchards and County Roads.
motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2002 -126 -CC in the matter
of vacating a Certain County Road Right -of -Way be passed. The motion
carried.
/+),),a7 The Commissioners signed an agreement with Washington State
Department of Transportation on the Arnold Drive project.
yi-i. The Commissioners signed a Hold Harmless/Indemnification Clause
with the Town of Mattawa, regarding the Grant County Metals Drive.
t_"/ The Commissioners signed a Hold Harmless/Indemnification Clause
with the Port of Mattawa regarding the Household Hazardous Waste
Collection Event.
i,1--1'>; , The Commissioners signed a contract with Basin Paving Company
regarding the Grant Place Ped/Bike Path project.
- -.,,"/A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Moore that Resolution Number 2002 -127 -CC adopting an
amendment to the Deferred Compensation Plan be passed. The motion
carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until August 26, 2002.
