Week of February 19, 2002
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. by Chairman Tim Snead. Chairman Snead and Commissioner Allison
were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Moore was
out of the office.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Carol Mende of
the Sheriff's Office to $2,218 per month.
3/ �DThe Commissioners approved the salary increase of Lois Schutt of the
Sheriff's Office to $2,218 per month.
The Commissioners approved the payment to Hartford in the amount
of $2,158.29 for a June 23, 1998 claim loss.
/,��/tea- The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Robert Church of
the Sheriff's Office to $2,711.74 per month.
i,_�3,;, The Commissioners approved out of State travel for Diana Wavra of
the Juvenile Department to travel to Toronto, Canada.
'ti�IhS�Chairman Snead was authorized to sign approval of the Liquor
License Application of the Sunland Store.
p4 -'3,,S -The Commissioners signed the Notice of Public Hearing for a
proposed supplemental budget for the Domestic Violence Fund 4128,
Department #170 in the amount of $5,000 from unanticipated state/federal
funds.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding
Resolution -Establishing County Road 10-NW/Notice of Hearing, 10:45 a.m.
Bid Opening -Cab -forward truck Chassis, Authorization to Call for Bids -1 -
SW Road, Authorization to Call for Bids -2002 Fuel Purchase, Execution of
Contracts -Bear Cat Mfg.,Inc., Dedication Service Award, Personnel-S/W
Laborer Position -William Jones.
The Commissioners were notified by the Public Works Director that
since they only received 1 bid for the 2002 fuel purchases and the bid was
unacceptably high and not in the Public's best interest they were rejecting
the bid, and re -advertising.
111�3Z6 / The Commissioners held a bid opening for a cab forward truck chassis
with 64,000 gvw. A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded
by Commissioner Snead to refer the bids to Public Works for their review
and recommendation. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2002 -3I -CC setting a Public
Hearing for Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the matter of
establishing a certain road as part of the County Road System be passed.
The motion carried.
The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids for 2002
Fuel Purchases. Bid opening to be March 5, 2002 at 10:45 a.m.
The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids for I -
SW Road, MP 0.00 to MP 2.12. Bid opening to be March 5, 2002 at 10:30
a.m.
The Commissioners signed a contract with Bear Cat Mfg.Inc. for
Equipment Contract 2002-04.
�l�eb A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2002 -32 -CC approving SIP
fund requests for the Town of Wilson Creek and the City of George be
passed. The motion carried.
/c/3�, 3 The Commissioners held a Public Hearing to receive public input in
the matter of redistricting of the County Commissioners Districts for Grant
County. A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by
Commissioner Snead to adopt the proposed Commissioner District changes
as shown on the maps of record. The motion carried.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
tho e vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 2/19/02 in the total amount of
$567,533.01.
The Commissioners received a Claim for Damages from Virginia
Alcaraz. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
3 The Commissioners received a Summons and Complaint from Ramon
Torres and Marcelina Torres, and Angelica Silva. The matter was referred
to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling.
Chairman Snead was authorized to sign Group Contracts with MSC
Premera Blue Cross for Grant County Medical Insurance.
)The Commissioners have hired Susan Bauer to fill the Administrative
Services Coordinator position. Ms. Bauer begins work on February 25,
2002 at a starting salary of $3,750 per month.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until February 25, 2002.
